Food for thought

K, since I'm so bored at client's place doing nothing. I shall blog about a conversation that took place over supper one fine Friday. Here's a food trivia. Anyone who can provide the most convincing answer will win an attractive prize to be given out on Christmas Bash night. Closing date: 7 Dec (Thurs), 11pm.

The meat of a pig is called pork
The meat of a cow is called beef
The meat of a deer is called venison
The meat of a sheep is called lamb/mutton*

Now, why is the meat of a chicken called chicken?

*Additional info: Lamb is the meat of a young sheep while Mutton is the meat of a grown sheep
